Why should one opt for tea over coffee?

While a passionate debate has been going on about this subject, one cannot doubt that tea has been one thing that brings people together and unites them. What a cup of tea can do is something marvellous like initiate interesting conversations, bring people together, release stress, chare you up for the day. Not that coffee doesn’t help do the same things, but with tea, there are more benefits than just that. Even physically, tea has attributes that help the body keep healthy and fine. Coffee does have its set of advantages, but compared to tea, it doesn’t come anywhere near it.

First and foremost, all those who think that tea has less amount of caffeine than coffee, then that is not exactly the case. While tea has the same amount of caffeine as coffee, the stimulants in coffee can to quite an extent, reduce the energy levels after a short while. Although one cannot deny the great rush, a coffee gives, the only trouble with it is that it does not last long like that of tea. Therefore, if you are on the lookout for something that will keep you going throughout the day, tea is what you should be rooting for!

Tea has antioxidants galore! There has never been a beverage that has been tasty and healthy at the same time. Tea is just the one. Antioxidants help in keeping the body healthy and the skin radiant. A lot of ingredients can go with tea. But clove and cinnamon are two ingredients that have the highest levels of antioxidants in them. They majorly help in protecting the body against cell degeneration, bacteria and viruses, etc. Also, many may not believe it but tea really helps in slowing down the ageing process.

Cinnamon in tea has a great benefit of stabilizing the blood sugar levels. In fact, cinnamon is extremely helpful for people who have been detected with type 2 diabetes. It helps lower sugar levels by reducing insulin resistance in the body. Tea has also always promoted good health and helped the heart fight right. Even substantial evidence has been come up with. Cinnamon also helps with cardiovascular health. Tea enhances vasodilatation which in turn helps improving blood flow.

Apart from having great medicinal properties, tea also helps a great deal by relieving stress. Studies show that tea helps give the feel-good factor and cuts down on stress levels rising up. Nutmeg as an ingredient is said to possess properties of anti-depressant. Therefore, once they interact with the system, they help regulate the amount of serotonin and dopamine hormones. Serotonin and dopamine are hormones that help a person feel positive. Thus, tea is always the better option as it is considered a great reliever of chronic stress and is also known to be an effective cure for diseases like insomnia.

Fennel, another ingredient in tea is also considered to be anti-inflammatory with carcinogenic properties. This helps in reducing the growth of a tumour and in turn, ends up boosting the antioxidant defence system in the body. Even ginger for that matter helps in potentially countering different kinds of cancer in the body.

After everything that has been mentioned above, it is evident how much tea benefits you from drinking it. While coffee has its own set of benefits, they do not nearly match the effects that tea has over the body. And while you are free to choose what you want, it would benefit you to consider the consumption of tea in your daily life.
